One day, I saw several Chinese policemen laughing at the courtyard of the detention camp

By: Serwi Huseyin “One day, I saw several Chinese policemen laughing at the courtyard of detention camp where I was teaching while they were pouring hot water to the lice infested clothes of the detainees , and asked them why they were laughing. They said, ‘they(Uyghurs) are tough, they don’t even die with so much torture. Their lice are just the same. Look, their lice don’t die with hot water and instead they spread out from the stiches and still crawling on top of their clothes.’ Former detention camp teacher Mrs. Qelbinur’s voice was trembling in this live interview this morning when she was talking about how Chinese policemen made jokes out of the bloody scene in the detention camp. Mrs. Qelbinur’s agonized voice is still echoing in my ears. When she was teaching Chinse to female young Uyghur students in the detention facility, she witnessed several deaths. She saw some of her students had hard time to sit and stand up. She also noticed their complexion became pale with birth control drugs and injections. One day she heard several Chinse policemen joke about how they trample these Uyghur girls. They said, “They(Uyghur girls) are like flies in our hands, we can slap them to death from either side, from the front or back.”
